EIDE Spanish School, Bilbao:
EIDE Spanish School is located in Bilbao, Northern Spain and offers a range of Spanish language courses to students from around the world. Bilbao is the largest city in the Basque County (close to the French border) and is only 1 hour flight from Madrid and Barcelona. Our Spanish courses include Intensive Spanish; Spanish Immersion Programs; Tailor-made courses for tourism or business purposes; DELE exam preparation; private Spanish lessons and more. Our students can combine their Spanish classes with activities including cooking, surfing, hiking, excursions among others. We also offer Spanish summer camps to children and teenagers.

In order to maintain the quality of our teaching, Spanish courses are held in small groups where all our students receive personal attention. Our teachers are all native speakers, have a university degree in languages and are very experienced in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.

Established in 1976, our experience and professionalism have been recognized by such institutions as the University of Cambridge and Instituto Cervantes, as well as different National and European Organizations. We also offer career training programs in our Hospitality Management, Tourism and Catering School.

Combined with Spanish courses, we organize the following courses and activities:

- Cooking: 2 hours a day of Spanish and Basque cooking in the facilities of our Cooking School in EIDE.
- Culture, cuisine and wine tasting: Bilbao, Guggenheim Museum, gastronomy routes or wine tasting in La Rioja...
- Sailing: Sailing courses in a nearby sailing school. Details and prices will be sent upon request.
- Golf: Golf courses in Golf Meaztegi, located in La Arboleda, near Santurzi, in an exceptional area surrounded by mountains.
- Surfing: Surf courses on the beaches around, a paradise for surfers. More information and prices will be sent upon request.
- Nature and Adventure: Hiking, mountain-biking, mountain-climbing or scuba-diving are some of the activities we can arrange for you.

Bilbao is a cosmopolitan and modern city, which is a result of a transformation where the Guggenheim museum is one of the most important ingredients. At the same time it is rooted in the habits and traditions of the Basque people, a fact that can be noticed in the charming old town, which is still the heart of the city. Visitors will enjoy its prestigious gastronomy as well as night life.

EIDE is located in the city centre of Santurtzi, a fishing town on the northern edge of Metropolitan Area of Bilbao. There is a good range of shops and many excellent cafes and restaurants, some with splendid views of the harbours old and new. The town’s location is excellent, only 15 minutes to the centre of Bilbao, the beaches and the mountains.

The Basque County:
The Basque Country (Bizkaia) is a land of wide plains, mountain massifs with magnificent routes, green woods, great cliffs, rich marshes and relaxing beaches. Nature lovers have a lot to discover. Its uneven landscapes' diversity and beauty is evident not only in the established natural parks, but in most part of the territory.

The Cantabrian shore is said to be one of the most beautiful coasts in Europe. It encompasses multiple cliffs, unspoilt beaches and little fishing villages. What makes it even more attractive is the possibility of practicing all kinds of sports. Bizkaia’s coastline offers waves and salt air to go sailing, surfing or swimming.

EIDE can find accomodation for students who require it. There are several types of accomodation:

- Homestay Acccommodation with Spanish Host Families:
For full Spanish immersion, we can organize homestay accommodation with local host families where students have the opportunity to speak Spanish at home and experience Spanish culture first-hand. Our host families are carefully selected and B&B, Half Board or Full Board options are available.

- Student Residence:
The Student Residence "Blas de Otero" is located in Bilbao, less than 200 metres from the train station to Santurtzi. It takes 20 minutes by train from Bilbao to Santurtzi. Prices vary according to the room chosen: single or double.
