Join Our Team as a Construction Estimator

Worcester Eisenbrandt (WEI), a leader in the restoration of historically significant sites, is looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. Based in the vibrant DC, Maryland, and Virginia metro areas, you will play a key role in preserving the past while building the future.

About our position:

As a Construction Estimator at WEI, you will create cost-effective, and detailed estimates for a variety of historic restoration projects. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction industry professionals to bring life back to landmark sites, ensuring that the heritage of these structures is preserved with accuracy and care. If you are detail-oriented and excited about making a tangible impact in historic restoration, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly review Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for historic restoration projects.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing construction plans, market conditions, and project specifications.
  • Perform quantity take-offs for selected trades, and break down trade-specific scopes of work.
  • Create and manage bid packages while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to align project goals, schedules, permits, and costs with historic preservation standards.
  • Proficiency in the use of software to provide near-accurate estimates.
  • Attend pre-bid conferences and conduct site visits as required.
  • What We Are Looking For:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or 5-8 years of construction estimating experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Proven expertise in the bid process.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Excel.
  • Experience in historic restoration is a huge plus!
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Why WEI?

At Worcester Eisenbrandt, we pride ourselves on fostering an outstanding company culture and providing a dynamic, supportive work environment where your contributions are valued. This full-time role comes with a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, generous paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan to help secure your future. We also offer competitive pay, ensuring that your hard work is recognized and rewarded.
