INTELLIGENCE ANALYST
(Temporary grant-funded position through September 2027)

CRIMINAL BUREAU
The Attorney General’s Office is looking for a highly motivated individual to conduct intelligence analysis related to the work of the New England Fentanyl Strike Force (NEFSF). This is a grant-funded position to run through September 2027. The Criminal Bureau is staffed by a group of experienced prosecutors who partner with Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Attorney General’s Office, financial investigators, and local, state, and federal investigative and enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute large-scale narcotics trafficking organizations throughout the Commonwealth.
Primary Duties: The Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for developing tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence information to support ongoing investigations and counter-drug operations. The analyst will conduct and manage complex research into drug cultivation and production, methods of transportation, trafficking routes, and the structure and analysis of trafficking organizations, including but not limited to, analysis of telephone-related data, such as subscriber and call detail records and evaluation of phone calls, email activity, text messages, etc.,
to quantify criminal plotting and conspiracy activities. The analyst will coordinate and conduct the NEFSF’s analysis of aggregate datasets, including constructing methodologies, as well as determining causes, patterns, and better methods to improve public safety outcomes and cultivate possible leads or further direction for deeper investigation into criminal activity.
The analyst will use data collection and mapping software to compile information received from partner enforcement reports, which will be used to create reports and recommendations for crime prevention and response techniques with local, state, and federal partners. The analyst will solicit user participation in contributing information to various intelligence databases. The analyst will meet with law enforcement officials to identify gaps in existing criminal investigation and intelligence data, to collect raw data, and to evaluate investigatory progress.
The analyst will coordinate multi-agency collaboration and provide project management and intelligence analysis for all partners, including meeting logistics, inter-agency communications, and data presentations.
Position Type: Full-Time/Exempt (This is a full-time temporary position with benefits funded by a three-year grant through September 2027).
Salary: $77,040.00

Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent demonstrated experience working as an Intelligence Analyst in the law enforcement, military, or intelligence communities.
- Basic understanding of and interest in drug law enforcement.
- Solid command of MS Word and PowerPoint. Advanced Excel skills and experience with statistical software.
- Should have expertise in formatting and design of reports, link charts, graphs, and tables.
- Experience in synthesizing and interpreting data, preparing and presenting reports, research and writing.
