Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair our fleet of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of diesel engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components. You will play a vital role in ensuring our operations run smoothly and safely by keeping our vehicles in peak condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics on diesel engines and systems to identify issues.
  • Repair and maintain heavy-duty trucks, buses, and other diesel-powered machinery.
  • Conduct routine services such as oil changes, brake inspections, and filter replacements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, fuel, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain accurate service records and reports.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to assess vehicle systems.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics and team members to complete tasks efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical school a plus).
  • Certification in diesel mechanics or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with diesel engines.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL but not required).

Work Environment:

  • Shop setting with some fieldwork or on-site repairs.
  • May involve exposure to noise, grease, fumes, and varying weather conditions.

Schedule:
Full-time; may include overtime or weekend shifts based on workload.

Company Description:
We are a full-service repair facility that performs all services to trucks/trailers including replacing brakes, clutches, differentials, DOT Inspections, welding, hydraulics, engine work, oil changes, tires, etc. Our small, local company has been in business for over 40 years. The shop is open Monday - Friday. Employee turnover is very low. Overtime available!
