Staff Accountant

Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000, commensurate with experience

This position is on-site, full-time, located at our Corporate Headquarters in Buffalo Grove, IL

Summary

The Staff Accountant will analyze financial information and assist in the preparation of financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, or other financial activities within the organization. You will be heavily involved in the close process. Someone who will be successful in this position will be a self-starter that is hungry to learn more. The Staff Accountant should have strong Excel skills.

Essential Functions

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Accounts Receivable full cycle process – applying customer deposits, following up with lease companies, contacting customers to discuss payments, reviewing AR aging schedule, and maintaining the cash collection file
• Payments and Refunds – assisting in issuing payments and refunds
• Concur Expense Reports – assisting our Accounts Payable team weekly in reviewing expense reports
• Cash application – assisting in posting cash and scanning checks
• Assisting in the Monthly Close, preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts

Education and Experience Required

• BS in Accounting/Finance
• CPA certification and/or public accounting experience a plus
• 1-5 years’ accounting experience with knowledge in General Ledger
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word

Skills Required

• Positive attitude and approach to the job responsibilities and the Alma team
• Microsoft Applications (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Oracle Net Suite ERP experience preferred but not required
• Excellent organizational skills

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct reports but assists in mentoring peers and other departments as needed.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to sit, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
