Position Overview:
An oral surgery assistant works under the supervision of an oral surgeon to prepare patients, prepare equipment, provide patient instructions, review patient records, take and develop images, and prepare and sterilize equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients:
Explain procedures and answer patient questions, assist the surgeon during procedures, which may include suctioning or suturing wounds. - Prepare equipment:
Prepare and sterilize equipment needed for procedures. - Provide instructions:
Provide patients with instructions for oral healthcare procedures. - Review patient records:
Review patient health histories and document medications and medical conditions. - Take and develop images:
Take and develop X-rays, photos, and CBCTs, and upload them to patient charts.
Qualifications And Skills:
- Preferred: at least 1 year of Oral Maxillofacial / dental implant surgery assisting (OMSA or DAANCE certificate).
- Surgical Technologist Certificate (a plus).
- Dental X-ray/radiology license.
- Strong vocabulary and communication skills.
- High school graduate and above level of education.
- A knowledge of medical and dental terminology.
