Operations Support Assistant

(A true Jack-of-All-Trades role with growth potential)
We’re looking for a vibrant, energetic, and hands-on Operations Support Assistant to be a key support player in our daily operations. This versatile individual will assist across various departments, including acting as a driver, assisting with health & safety routines, performing general maintenance, supporting the smelting room team when needed, and ensuring our vehicles and premises are always in top shape.

This is an ideal role for someone with strong logical thinking, a willingness to learn, and a “can-do” attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as company driver for deliveries, collections, and transporting high-value goods (Code 8 license required)

• Assist with general Health & Safety duties across the premises (no qualification needed, training will be provided)

• Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks on-site

• Monitor and coordinate service schedules for all company vehicles

• Support smelting room operations as backup, including confident and safe handling of a torch (training will be provided)

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

• Assist with logistics, loading/unloading, and occasional errands

• Take initiative to identify and resolve basic operational or maintenance issues

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and vehicle servicing

Requirements:

• Valid Code 8 Driver’s License with clean driving record

• Confident, energetic, and willing to take on diverse tasks

• Strong problem-solving and logical thinking abilities

• Comfortable with hands-on work and using tools/equipment

• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks

• Willingness to learn and assist in new areas as needed

• Trustworthy, especially when handling high-value goods

• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently

Advantageous but not required:

• Previous experience in general maintenance, basic handyman tasks, or facilities support

• Familiarity with vehicle servicing basics or mechanical aptitude

• Any background in Health & Safety or manufacturing environments
