Job Summary: The Behavioral Health Nurse Manager provides leadership and oversight for all clinical, operational, administrative, and strategic aspects of behavioral health program services and delivers direct patient care.
Essential Functions: The Behavioral Health Nurse Manager is responsible for interpreting, leading, and complying with the Care Well Health mission, vision, goals, and policies, as well as CMS and Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) program requirements.
Other Duties: Supervises and evaluates behavioral health department staff, coordinates with Human Resources for staffing and personnel decisions; provides orientation; reviews credentials; handles disciplinary actions, including termination. Oversees integrated primary care behavioral health services and implements policies and procedures for the delivery of services in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, clinical standards of care, and industry best practices. Coordinates with the Medical Director for the delivery of the department's psychiatric medical services, as well as the development and implementation of behavioral services policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, clinical standards of care, and industry best practices.
Serves as the point of contact with DMHAS and other grant funders, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all funder-required tasks. Provides oversight and administrative support for DMHAS on-site visits. Participates in quality assurance and compliance processes to ensure the quality of treatment and related services.
Minimum Education /
Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing.
Licensure: Current NJ State RN License and valid BLS certification.
Minimum
Work Experience:
Minimum of three years of behavioral experience and supervisory experience.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Management class position/Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Physical Requirements: Vision sufficient to inspect conditions of facilities, equipment, and systems, and prepare and review diagrams and paperwork. Speech and hearing sufficient to provide information, discuss needed work, and provide instructions and training in person or over the telephone. Walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing to inspect work; agility and strength to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move/carry objects.
Motor skills to work in a typical office setting and use of standard office equipment. Stamina to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in a hospital environment. Work is subject to performance under exposure to individuals with diseases, including communicable diseases, noise, fumes, and potentially dangerous situations, while supervising work.
