JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2nd Class Boilers Licenses or the ability to obtain within 24 months
- Other preferred licenses or ability to obtain within 18 months

- Knowledge of plumbing, heating, electrical systems and energy management system

Maintain and repair heating, electrical and plumbing and other systems to provide safe and comfortable surroundings for staff and students. Initiate at the building site level a preventive maintenance program involving all heating, electrical, plumbing and all other equipment to ensure safe and cost effective operation of the facilities. Responsible for the maintenance & upkeep of all school district grounds.
THE JOB INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING TASKS:
- Inspect, monitor and regulate building heating, electrical, plumbing and other systems for efficient and proper operation. This includes monitoring and checking:
- water and steam pressure in boiler
- air handling units
- plumbing and roofs for leaks
- building for needed repairs/damage
- repair any equipment in need of repair
- kitchen freezer/cooler for proper temperature and operation
- Repair electrical, plumbing, heating and other equipment when proper parts are available and repair does not require new system construction. Examples include repair windows; repair of leaking plumbing; basic electrical repairs; repair of temperature controls; and some motor replacement or repair if tools are available.
- Make repairs to building and equipment as assigned
- Lawn maintenance and snow removal
- Maintain athletic fields and equipment
- Perform safety inspections of equipment, including but not limited to, eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, emergency lights & playground equipment
- Replace air filters, maintain air handling units, and rooftop units
- Setup & maintain athletic fields
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned
- Able to lift 60 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
- Able to lift 120 pounds, with assistance, using proper lifting techniques or equipment.
- Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Able to bend body and arms in all directions to lift and move packages and to perform
- maintenance duties.
- Able to ascend and descend a ladder while performing maintenance duties.
- Bend body at waist downward and forward to perform maintenance duties.
- Bend both legs and knees to kneel or place knees on concrete, vinyl, tile, and carpet surfaces.
- Extend hands and arms in all directions to perform maintenance and shoveling duties.
- Use upper and lower extremities to perform maintenance duties, and upper extremities to
- Handle maintenance equipment, shovel snow and push and open doors.
- Use hands to select appropriate keys, insert keys into locks, turn doorknobs, and open doors.
- Personally respond quickly to emergency situations in all areas of the building.
- Assess each situation and take appropriate action.
- Have the physical ability to wear a negative pressure respirator and other personal protection equipment as needed.
- Perform work in confined spaces, such as, tunnels, boilers, and hot water tanks.
- Perform work in high areas, such as, hoists and ladders.
All employees subject to hazards are equipped and trained per OSHA standards.

- Subject to temperature changes while performing assigned duties.
- Subject to the hazards, dust and odors from sanding and painting procedures.
