Location DescriptionHopkins, MN is home to our Michael Foods, Inc. corporate headquarters. Hopkins is located 7 miles west of Minneapolis, boasting natural surroundings in a suburban environment that also provides quick access to major travel ways and local restaurants that give our community a distinct character. ResponsibilitiesPOSITION SUMMARY:
The position directs and oversees the activities of the Customer Accounting and Pricing Operations teams within the Commercial Finance team. This includes accounts receivable and payable activities such as cash receipt application, payment discrepancy reconciliation and collections, customer rebate and broker commission disbursements, pricing entry, and all related systems. Oversees the development, maintenance, and enforcement of policies and procedures specific to Customer Accounting and Pricing Operations.
A successful candidate possesses strong leadership skills, including developing teams, leading process improvement, and ensuring flawless operational execution. Developing an understanding of customer programs, including invoiced pricing and post-invoice activity, and creating strong partnerships across the organization to resolve customer discrepancies is key to success. In addition, having a working knowledge of systems to maintain and improve capabilities is essential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand and improve system capabilities, processes, and tools that will result in increased efficiency and produce timely and accurate results required to support increasingly versatile business needs.
- Lead development, maintenance and execution of Customer Accounting policies and procedures.
- Oversee monthly accrual and reconciliation activities for Customer Revenue.
- Manage internal control compliance as well as interim and annual audit work.
- Direct general accounting duties, including journal entries, account reconciliations and customer terms and conditions execution.
- Successfully manage projects’ critical path towards business deliverables.
- Ability to coordinate and manage data requests of varying size and scope.
- Provide guidance to managers and individual contributors on team to ensure appropriate prioritization of workload, provide clarity and alignment, and career development. Foster a collaborative and engaging team culture.
- Performs ad-hoc analysis, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Finance or Accounting or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- 10+ years’ experience in revenue accounting and pricing execution. Food or other manufacturing industry experience preferable, especially with rebate and billback activities.
- 3+ years of direct leadership experience.
- Highly proficient in Excel and ERP solutions (SAP a plus).
- Experience leading and improving processes and systems, inclusive of documentation and training (Vistex, Pricefx, SAP).
- Clear communicator with strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to partner and influence across the organization.
- Demonstrated competence in all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, and analysis.
- Detail oriented, collaborative, self-starter with the ability to manage priorities to meet deadlines.

The pay range for this position is $96,232 - $150,122 per year.
