Responsibilities

The deli third person is responsible for the operation of the department in the absence of the manager or assistant manager.

Duties include:

Managing department inventory, pricing, merchandising, and labor and safety rules.

Ordering products and supplies and scheduling work to maximize sales and gross profit.

Ensuring that all new department employees receive proper training and safety instruction on all equipment in the deli.

Providing proper supervision to ensure correct ordering, receiving, unloading, storage, and rotation of merchandise, and building of displays.

Responsible for a variety of other tasks in the store, ensuring that all employees are meeting safety standards for operation.

Adhering to strict standards of sanitation, food safety, and personal hygiene.
