Job Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Technicians position is responsible for overseeing the general upkeep of Monolithic Power Systems building and its infrastructure. Their role is to maintain building operations and ensure that the facilities are always safe and functional. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks in the general fields such as HVAC, electrical, ventilation, plumbing, etc.

They also manage emergency repairs to prevent and resolve safety or comfort issues. Maintenance technicians install new equipment and oversee building upgrades to maintain and preserve the facility and the building grounds.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintaining HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems throughout the building.
  • Performing routine maintenance around the building.
  • Coordinating any outsourced maintenance and repair activities.
  • Completing daily facilities requests (repairs/Handy-Man work) in a timely fashion with little or no supervision.
  • Reviewing and recommending Facilities Maintenance contracts.
  • Checking and responding to security and safety issues.
  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  • Overseeing landscape maintenance and pest control.
  • Maintaining and monitoring security camera system.
  • Coordinating deliveries from vendors and suppliers.
  • Keeping documents of inspections and problems.
  • Scheduling major repairs with the building’s inhabitants and HR.
  • Providing weekly status updates for ongoing activities.
  • Qualifications:

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems.
  • Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and welding.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing maintenance issues.
  • Administrative skills for ordering supplies, handling records and scheduling maintenance.
  • Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move and handle equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issues.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with employees of the building in a pleasant manner.
  • AS in a technical or science discipline preferred, or related experience.
  • 5+ years of experience preferred in commercial facilities maintenance, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational and excellent communication skills are required.

    Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The base salary range for this position in Washington is $70,000 - $90,000.
