Our client is a leading manufacturer of custom-built metal fabricated parts and have a job open for Welding Process Engineer in Kitchener
- St. Mary’s – Stratford, ON area. Candidates must be specialist in Welding Process / Welding indystruction writing – codes, standards, NDT, CWB GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SMAW and similar. Clear criminal check is required .

Welding Engineer is a hands-on role working closely with Production and Engineering to improve the welding job orders, write welding instructions, welding SOPs, welding Best Practices and to ensure Safety. You will write / revise welding instructions under ASME, ISO and other required regulatory compliance, have strong experience with GTAW, GMAW, FCAW and other weld procedures and be an expert to oversee and guide MIG Welding, TIG, Robotic and other types of welding.

You will provide technical guidance to all welders to ensure welding parameters are being followed, conduct Root Cause Analysis to investigate deviations and implement corrective actions, Testing Methods
-PT, RT and other NDT and tools. You will monitor safety, improve welder jobs coach and mentor welders to help reach their next level performance. This is NOT a leadership role.

Welding Engineer will ideally have minimum 5 years experience in welding processes GTAW, GMAW, FCAW , SMAW , have worked with 3rd party vendors for NDT, have proven work experience of writing welding instructions ( MUST have ) and be experienced in conducting RCA using DMAIG, Lean on welding procedures and suggest corrective actions. Diploma as Welding Technologist, degree in Welding Engineering or similar are highly preferred.

CWB level 2 highly preferred, established experience in improving welding processes including bending cutting forming and writing welding procedures. Excellent English communication skills are a MUST .Clear Criminal check is required.
