Garden Assistant

part-time availability (10-19 hours/week)

We are looking for someone with a passion for gardening who is interested in learning more about organic gardening techniques and sustainable practices.

Our organic gardens, located on FSPA land on St. Joseph Ridge, eleven miles east of La Crosse on Highway 33, produce abundant, high-quality fruits, vegetables and herbs and serve as educational models in the community.

You must be able to work in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks. You must also be able to work quickly, follow instructions, work with others and pay attention to detail.

You would:

• assist with garden weeding, field clean up, mulching, row covers and other tasks around the garden, greenhouse and orchard as needed,
• harvest a large variety of mixed vegetables and fruits and
• assist with washing, culling and packing produce as needed.

This part-time position pays $15/hour and requires 15-19 hours per week (with the opportunity to pick up additional hours based on availability). The schedule is flexible and can be adjusted during the school year. This position will run now through November.
