Construction Observer

Job Summary

Bohannan Huston is currently seeking a full-time experienced Construction Observer to join our Las Cruces, NM office.

As a Construction Observer in our Las Cruces Office, you would be involved in numerous tasks that include providing daily construction observation of the construction contractor's work to determine it is being constructed in accordance with the engineered plans and specifications. Other responsibilities include writing daily field reports, tracking material quantities, interpreting plans and specifications, maintaining a red line set of construction drawings, assisting contractor on RFI's, reviewing material submittals, and other miscellaneous tasks associated with construction inspection.

Who you Are

• You have a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least 2 to 5 years of experience in utility infrastructure construction either with an engineering firm or as an employee of a general construction contractor.
• You have experience in construction observation.
• You have exposure to public utility infrastructure construction.
• You have written and oral communication skills, computer skills (Word and Excel).
• You have the ability to track unit price quantities, read plans, and understand standard specifications.
• You are determined, organized, and detail oriented.
• You are customer focused.
• Construction materials laboratory testing experience is desired.
