GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Lead Business Analyst is an experienced IT functional systems analyst who also has experience in project management, product management, and internal consulting. This role works to improve or build business capabilities by facilitating the implementation of process and system improvements. The Lead Business Analyst coordinates the efforts of internal and external staff, and key business partners/users in support of existing production systems and the execution of new system projects.

ESSENTIAL

FUNCTIONS:
  • Leading an organized team of internal and external technical staff as well as outside vendors in the execution of new IT projects.
  • Working closely with stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize their needs - transforming them into detailed business and system requirements.
  • Performing business analysis activities at the strategic, operational, and organizational level; working with key users in the continual improvement of business processes.
  • Collaborating with IT and business stakeholders to ensure timely and successful issue resolution.
  • Creating and ensuring smooth communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Managing project activities and leading efforts in the support of existing systems, processes, services, and/or in the execution of new projects.
  • Supporting existing production systems by defining, prioritizing, and analyzing system issues and enhancement requests.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5
    -7 years of experience working as a business analyst within IT systems, processes, or capabilities.
  • A solid understanding of industry best practices in retail or IT.
  • Experience setting up and leading meetings and events.
  • Experience creating and maintaining artifacts such as Project Schedule, Risk Management plan, and Technical & Solution Design Documents.
  • Clear understanding of Project and Product Management best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Some Management Consulting experience preferred.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

    This position requires the ability to work in an office environment, including using a computer, attending meetings, and working as part of a team.
