Position: Field Assistant for Corn Breeding Fields

  • Assist in collecting data on corn crops for breeding purposes
  • Participate in fieldwork activities at experimental farms in West Madison and Hancock
  • Collaborate with a team of 4 to 6 individuals during field visits
  • Follow training protocols for accurate data collection on corn plants
  • Maintain organization and attention to detail in data recording for scientific research
  • What is Required (Qualifications):

  • Availability for fieldwork in corn seed production fields
  • Enrollment in courses related to agriculture, livestock, or biology
  • Enjoyment of working outdoors and ability to work in varying weather conditions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in data collection
  • Commitment to full-day availability on days scheduled for fieldwork
  • How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Previous experience in agricultural research or related fieldwork
  • Familiarity with data collection methods and scientific assessments
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting
