Position Overview

  • Follow a culture that is rich in safety and quality workmanship

  • Utilize equipment to excavate ground material around utility poles

  • Apply wood preservatives to the ground line area of a pole

  • Help install steel trusses to restore wood poles

  • Operate company vehicle (if applicable and qualified)

  • Perform all other reasonable duties as assigned by the Foreman or Crew Leader

  • Work schedules are typically 5-6 days per week, 8-10 hours per day, may require performing stand by duties or on-call work assignments

  • Comply with all safety regulations and meet safety requirements to maintain a successful safety record

Job Duties

  • Ability to travel for work about 75% of the time with per diem and lodging provided

  • High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism

  • Ability to work independently, in small groups or a team

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time, bend, reach and to move or carry items weighing up to 65 lbs

  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and in various hours of the day or night and holidays as required

  • Ability to work in terrains mixing and consisting of rocky, steep, uneven ground, wetlands, and flat areas

  • Electric utility and telecommunications experience

Additional Information

The ideal candidate would be comfortable with traveling from location to location within the client’s service territory. Candidates must be comfortable working full time with a minimum of 40 - 45 hours per week. Compensation based on experience. DRG offers excellent benefits including: health, dental, vision and life insurance after 30 days of employment. Phone reimbursement and use of company vehicle.
