Landscaping by J. Michael is looking for a Gardener/Horticulturalist. The ideal candidates are results-driven, passionate about the green industry, and contributing to growth.

Job Summary

Plans and schedules for day-to-day operation of the Horticultural Department.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Apply general and accepted practices for pruning, fertilizing, disease/fungus control, and maintenance of residential and commercial properties.
  • Work and oversee up to 2 crew members.
  • Responsible for paperwork, documentation, photographs, client recommendations, and scheduling site visits.
  • Perform estimates and sales to clients.
  • Assist in the Landscape Department as needed.

    • Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in landscape maintenance and horticulture or related field.
  • Skilled in proper pruning techniques and general garden bed maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs.
  • Proper use of both organic and chemical treatments for disease and insect control.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Valid DOT Health Card or the ability to obtain one.
  • Pesticide and/or MCLP licenses a plus.
