Family owned machine shop is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician. This individual will be responsible for leading the repair and preventative maintenance of our shop. You will be responsible for the structure, electrical systems, machinery and equipment, heating and plumbing systems. This position plays a key role in maintaining and improving production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations across the facility.
Essential Duties:
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment with minimal supervision.
- Perform general maintenance and preventative maintenance work on shop equipment.
- Interpret maintenance manuals, drawings, and specifications to determine repair and troubleshooting procedures.
- Disassemble, repair, replace parts on, and reassemble equipment.
- Perform basic fabrication and assembly.
- Maintain facility by performing general upkeep and repair operations.
- Maintain facility heating, cooling, and ventilating systems.
- Perform basic electrical tasks (e.g., lighting, motors, switches) and diagnose issues with control systems.
- Assist with the moving, relocation, and installation of equipment.
- Move and store hazardous materials in accordance with environmental and safety procedures.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures.
- Complete all required documentation.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background in an industrial setting and be passionate about preventative maintenance, process improvement, and hands-on problem-solving.
- Must have strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, communication skills, and willingness to learn.
- This position requires broad knowledge and experience in welding, fabrication, plumbing, and some electrical knowledge.
- Qualified candidates must be able to read and work from blueprints and diagrams.
- 3 years experience preferred.
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatics and NC/CNC controls is a plus.
- Knowledgeable of electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Basic knowledge of metal and fabrication.
