Chemistry Instructor (Adjunct/Part-Time)

Minneapolis College, a vibrant and inclusive two-year community college in Minnesota, is accepting applications for the position of Chemistry Faculty. This is an opportunity for a part-time, limited position.

The successful candidate:

  • Teaches all aspects of Chemistry.
  • Teaches in traditional as well as other delivery modes, including, but not limited to, synchronous and asynchronous online formats.
  • Regularly develops, reviews, and revises instructional and assessment materials.
  • Participates in the assessment of program and course student learning outcomes.
  • Practices current teaching strategies, including active learning, learner outcome assessments, and online instruction.
  • Should be flexible with teaching hours; with the possibility of evenings and weekends.
  • Salary Range: $43,067.00 - $94,542.00

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with a major in chemistry or a Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in chemistry.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with higher education guidelines and policies.
  • A minimum of two years of experience teaching.
  • Coursework in teaching pedagogies and preparation in principles and methods of evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Knowledgeable about methods of instruction, testing, and evaluation of students.
  • Experience using instructional technology.
  • Other Requirements:

  • Current and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.

  • Applicants should be prepared to provide contact information of four (4) references, including two (2) managers, who can directly address your qualifications for this position (prefer that at least one reference observed you while you were acting in a teaching capacity).

    Work Shift (Hours / Days of work): Varies, some evenings and weekends.

    SALARY: Determined by number of credits, experience, and education if teaching more than one course.
