We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Fleet Technician to join our team. This role specializes in maintaining and repairing diesel and gas vehicles, conducting upfitting services, and managing a variety of fleet maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnostics and Repair: Perform comprehensive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel, gas, and specialty fleet vehicles.
- Upfitting and Customization: Install, modify, and repair upfitted components such as racks, toolboxes, lift gates, and custom systems to meet specific operational needs.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, brake checks, and safety inspections, to optimize fleet performance and longevity.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work complies with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, particularly concerning emissions, safety equipment, and vehicle modifications.
- Inventory and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and service schedules; manage and track parts and tools inventory.
- Travel and Remote Support: Travel to various locations as needed to support fleet operations; coordinate with clients and team members to provide timely, efficient service.
- Collaboration: Work closely with fleet management to communicate vehicle status, report maintenance needs, and support strategic planning for fleet optimization.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Fleet Technician, Automotive Technician, or related role, specializing in diesel and gas vehicle maintenance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, repairs, hydraulics, electrical, diesel, gas, and/or Upfitting.
- Travel Requirements: Valid driver’s license required with a clean driving record.
- Travel Flexibility: Operate within a given radius/territory.
- Communication: Strong communication skills for interacting with team members, clients, and management, especially during urgent service calls.
- Problem-Solving: Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities; comfort with working independently in remote environments.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., perform physically demanding tasks, and operate in various weather conditions.
