We are looking for a full-time Field Service Technician to join our Red Deer Service Team . The ideal candidate is an organized team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while efficiently operating a Collicutt service truck.

Primary

Job Functions:

• Perform emergency field service, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on customer equipment, including generators, engines, and compressors.
• Conduct startups, new product commissioning, calibrations, and load bank tests.
• Test and verify electrical components, including energized components and electrical fields.
• Maintain productive customer relations and promptly address customer needs.
• Communicate unresolved issues to the Field Service Supervisor.
• Complete high-quality service documentation, including worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality reports.
• Maintain service vehicle, tools, company-assigned devices, and driver logs.
• Participate in 24-hour on-call rotation and provide off-duty customer phone support.
• Mentor and support junior staff and apprentices for future development.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and company values.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the power generation industry operating a field service truck.
• Journeyman or 3rd/4th Year Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician (HET), Millwright, Automotive, or Electrician
• Hold a Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean Driver’s Abstract
• Be able to produce a Clear Criminal Record Check

Preferred

• Proven experience working with generators and performing mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and repairs with working knowledge of D/C and A/C electrical systems up to 2500KW.
• Ability to service stationary natural gas and diesel engines, including oil filter changes, coolant and water pump replacements, valve/injector settings, etc.
• Strong decision-making skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings, service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic systems.
• Above-average computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, emails, and engine software.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Must have standard trade tools
• Willingness to travel and spend multiple days away from home base as needed.
• Legal ability to travel internationally.
