Overview

Gilbane is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist that is capable of fulfilling the cost and schedule requirements of multiple mid-sized projects or a singular large project, including day-to-day interface with project management, client and contractor personnel, while overseeing and developing junior level project controls staff. Initially, this position will be on a $4B healthcare project.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor cost control systems that accurately measure progress, performance, and forecast expenditures. Provide timely feedback to project and business unit management.
  • Supervise the development, approval, and issuance of client and internal status reports that effectively communicate schedule status and identify critical path. Motivate the project team to define corrective actions for implementation.
  • Apply practical field experience with planning/scheduling knowledge to identify challenges to the project schedule and suggest mitigation plans.
  • Be familiar with the development and application of Gilbane indirect and overhead rates to cost.
  • Provide consistency between the project estimate, work breakdown structure, and project schedule.
  • Estimate cost and cumulative impact of proposed design or construction changes.
  • Support procurement by contributing to cost analysis for subcontractor pricing to determine whether pricing is fair-and-reasonable.
  • Understand the risk register. Analyze risk to evaluate and forecast contingency requirements for management estimate reviews.
  • Maintain and trend historical cost data from actual hours, costs, and pricing.
  • Apply practical field experience and constructability expertise to the development of estimates at completes and schedules when minimal information is available.
