NEDCON has been in business since 1969 manufacturing racking systems all over the world. NEDCON’s headquarters are in The Netherlands with production in the Czech Republic along with several satellite offices around the world including in the USA in Harrison OH for 24 years.

We have expanded our production operations to the USA in Shelbyville KY since 2023 and we are looking for several candidates to join our team. The NEDCON team is currently looking for a Quality Engineer to join our new production plant in Shelbyville KY for first shift operations. This is an exciting opportunity to help expand our production in the USA.

What you'll do:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and proposing measures to correct or improve NEDCON’s final products and processes to meet already established quality standards. Provide hands-on support on the production floor a minimum of 50% of the time. You will implement quality assurance policies and procedures and perform routine inspections and quality tests. This person has direct influence on customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement QMS to meet objectives as per company strategy for internal production and external suppliers.
  • Execute product inspections and testing at various stages of production.
  • Perform quality control on critical external suppliers and conduct quality audits focusing on direct deliveries, cross docking and subcontracting.
  • Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Evaluate quality complaints, discuss quality assurance issues, actions and developments with technical and/or project management.

Skills Needed:

  • The ability to work and handle all measuring equipment with adequate sensitivity (both production floor and laboratory equipment) = manual skills to execute measurements.
  • Ability to perceive the importance of metrology, not only administratively but especially physically in daily production.
  • Be able to communicate within a project-driven mechanical engineering organization. Mechanical engineering mindset and ability to understand the pressure of discovering non-quality in sight of the customer. Ensure firm view of quality both internally and externally.
  • A positive relationship with computing and control technology, not a programmer but an advanced user able to understand the cyber-physical context of NEDCON equipment.
  • Willingness and ability to learn to implement other quality techniques (3D laser scanning, integrated optical/vision systems, etc.) in close collaboration with Quality Engineer(s) in Europe.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and familiarity with quality control standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (Mechanical or Manufacturing).
  • Proven experience in quality engineering roles.
  • MS Office and ability to learn new software.
  • Experience with Welding and/or Robotic Welding a plus.
