Minimum 40 hours with OT when required. 1st Shift 4-10 hours days, occasional travel (up to 25%)

A Day In The Life:
The Automation Technician will be actively working with other technicians, as well as our mechanical and electrical engineering teams, on custom automation projects that are designed and built by our professional team and delivered to our other facilities throughout the US as well as outside of the country. Occasionally, the Automation Technician will be required to travel to support a field service team with their assignments (inside and outside of the state).
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Configure, build, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical aspects of custom automation projects
- Set and achieve aggressive goals to meet project assembly deadlines
- Wire, plumb, align, and troubleshoot various automation components
- Follow prints and wire AC/DC cabinets on automation projects
- Set up HMI
- Assemble electrical panels
- Work with PLCs, VFDs, SCARA, and 6-axis robots
- Isolate and troubleshoot custom automation challenges
- Identify safety issues
- Lead by example and demonstrate strong communication skills
- Meet assigned deadlines for custom automation project deliveries
- Adapt to changing needs during various stages of the project build
- Other responsibilities as required by Supervisor
- Occasional travel to other company locations to support field services

- Hands-on experience in equipment maintenance
- Experience working with and troubleshooting custom automation
- Ability to read, understand, and follow mechanical and electrical prints
- Strong organizational skills
- Exceptional and timely communication
- Ability to isolate and resolve custom automation challenges
- Computer literacy and familiarity with CAD software (e.g., e-drawings) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Mechanical automation and electrical skills necessary to efficiently assemble, wire, plumb, align, and troubleshoot custom automation stations
- Ability to perform simple machining operations using Prototrack
- Meet deadlines set for automation delivery dates

- Ability to follow directions
- Willingness to travel occasionally to in-state and out-of-state locations when required
