Data Analyst, Data Engineer
Kearney & Company is seeking a IT Business Analyst in Alexandria, Va to join our team! The IT Business Analyst will serve within a Resource Management team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated critical thinking skills, knowledge, and experience of data management, understanding of the data lifecycle, interface and data cleansing reconciliation approaches/techniques, and ability to support accounting record maintenance, cleanup, and transformation.
Responsibilities
- Analyze large, unstructured, and complex finance, procurement, and asset management data sets identifying data anomalies, issues, and approaches to resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the development of database queries to develop data extracts and reports.
- Identify patterns and outliers in data sets to inform management on data quality concerns and recommend actionable data cleansing corrective actions and/or strategies.
- Create and manage data quality metrics and visualizations; data storytelling.
- Advise the team on data relationships, data types, and data transformation strategies.
- Review processes, identify deficiencies, and design work tools to bridge control gaps through data analytics.
- Provide recommendations for data cleanup improving data quality for operational and financial reporting.
- Plan and delegate tasks for fellow team members to achieve project objectives.
- Perform stakeholder identification and management.
- Develop and implement data quality processes and standards.
- Conduct data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree.
- Sales Force Admin Certification.
- Advanced MS Excel, MS Access, and/or data analytic software skills.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data sets, identify data anomalies, issues, and define approaches to resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to translate business requirements to technical solutions while identifying gaps.
- Have familiarity with data discovery to take an unknown data set and extract meaning.
- Strong understanding of data quality best practices and methodologies.
- Experience with data profiling and cleansing.
- Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools.
- Experience with Data Science, Data Analytics, Data Visualization, or Data Management.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in a federal consulting environment.
- Experience with data analytics software.
- Experience with a core financial system within a federal agency.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, SQL and OLAP/OLTP.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain secret security clearance.

The expected salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $90,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law.
This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
