The Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center in Waukesha, WI is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency team!

Shift Schedule: This is a first shift position.

About WVRC: WVRC, Waukesha is recognized as a certified Level 1 Emergency and Critical Care Facility by the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society (VECCS).

We have three hospital locations:
Waukesha, Racine and Grafton, all dedicated to providing patients, clients, and referring veterinarians the highest quality emergency and specialty veterinary medical care. WVRC offers a warm, friendly atmosphere where our main goal is to provide compassionate care to our patients and clients as well as offering outstanding customer service.

Schedule:

  • To be discussed during interview process. This department requires weekends and some holiday coverage.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of technical experience (ER experience preferred but not required)
  • CVT required at time of hire or within nine months of hire
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Advocate for patient care
  • Self-motivated with a passion for veterinary medicine
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced technical skill set such as restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement and general nursing care experience is required. General anesthesia knowledge is preferred.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
