Summary of Job:
Responsible for retail store operations during the evening hours making decisions impacting store associates, merchandise quality and presentation and the level of service offered to our customers. Ensure conditions involving security, safety, and food safety are consistently maintained at the highest levels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist the Store Manager with the day-to-day operations of the entire storeResponsible for hiring, training, and developing associatesManage performance through performance management, coaching, evaluations and disciplinary effortsMaintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast and easy customer serviceProvide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of Molter’s Family Markets Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision and StrategyEnsure proper control of all store funds and company assetsObserve and correct all unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidentsObserve and ensure compliance with company guidelines, policies, standard practices, security, safety, and food safety standardsUnderstand and use company tools such as financial reports, inventory management reports, scheduling, productivity, ordering, and business information systems. Must be able to perform cash register type functions.Support the achievement of store budgeted financial and operating resultsMaximize sales through excellent customer service and minimize shrink through proper utilization of Standard Practices to ensure that inventory and moneys are accounted for; provides coaching for associates to recognize and prevent lossesEnsure store conditions, customer service and satisfaction, product quality, freshness, availability, variety and execution of all policies and proceduresEnsure compliance with local, state and federal regulationsEnsure that staffing schedules across departments meet the business needsConstant interaction with associates; ensure associates understand Molter’s Family Markets expectations.Perform all other duties and projects as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:High school graduate or equivalentDepartment Manager or equivalent experience requiredStrong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniquesExcellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the jobGood judgment solving problems, making decisions, handling complaints, arbitrating disputes and resolving grievancesDesire and ability to lead and manage associates throughout multiple departmentsMust meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functionsMust be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodationsMust be accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar accrediting organization as a “Certified Food Safety Manager” or will be required to attend company provided training and have the ability to achieve accreditation within the first 90 days of employment;
