Rochester Independent College:
Located in the Medway Towns in the County of Kent, just East of London, Rochester Independent College (RIC) is an alternative secondary school that provides day programs for students from the age of 11 and boarding programs from the age of 16 (GCSE Year 11 and Sixth Form students).

We offer A level courses and GCSE courses, as well as courses in film and media, visual and creative arts, and programs for those aiming to enter Medical, Dental and Vet Science Programs. We welcome students from all over the UK as well as from overseas.

The Medway Towns are an exciting place to be in the educational field, with one of the country's leading art colleges based here and both the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent currently moving increasing numbers of courses into their Medway campuses because of its strategically important location.

Rochester and the other Medway Towns offer better and more affordable living accommodation than London, yet are within cheap and easy reach of all the facilities the capital city has to offer.

Location and Facilities:

The Rochester Independent College campus is home to a conference centre, an observatory with a telescope for star-gazing, a fitness centre and a peaceful landscaped garden.

The College has first class ICT facilities with over 120 onsite computers for student use, all linked to the College network. The network is primarily PC based but we have a new Apple Mac suite for Music Technology, Graphic Design and Media.

The College has two cinema rooms equipped with state of the art digital projection facilities and surround sound and five fully equipped Science laboratories.

Students are encouraged to use the College’s intranet where each subject tutor has archived materials, online lessons, resources, self tests and web links.

College accommodation is in either single or double rooms. All rooms have a direct dial telephone and a computer with internet connection. Each room also has a desk, a chair, a wardrobe, shelving and a strong box. Ben linen is provided and extra bedding available on any of the housekeeping staff. Students are free to bring their own bed linen or laptops if they wish. At the beginning of each year boarders fill in a catering questionnaire to establish likes and dislikes as regards food.
