Global Village Hawaii:
Situated in the center of Honolulu, next to the world's largest outdoor shopping center, Global Village Hawaii is Hawaii's premier English language school. We are a multi-national school with students from all over the world studying English. Our beginner to advanced level study options include General English courses, Business English, English Exam Preparation (TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC...), University Pathway courses, and more. Global Village Hawaii is independently owned and operated.
General English Program (GEP)
16/20 lessons per week ( Monday through Thursday / Friday) for a part-time student and 25 lessons per week (Monday through Friday) for a full-time student.
This GEP program is our most popular program. We have 8 levels that all students are placed in the most appropriate level assigned by the placement test on the first day of the school.
Students will study in either the morning or the afternoon, depending on the level. Level 1-3 are combined skills courses taught by a single teacher.
Reading, writing, speaking, and listening are not separated as they are in levels 4 - 8, which consist of 2 distinct classes, Language use (grammar structure & writing) and Communication (language functions, speaking and listening).
Business English Program (BEP)
This is an upper-intermediate level course (Level 5+) focusing on spoken and written business communication.
This course is for adult learners who are already using English at a high level and want to achieve a very high level of accuracy and fluency when speaking in different business and social contexts.
Half of the course is practicum based, with projects and activities involving local businesses, while the other half focuses on the language structures and functions most relevant to current or future business people.
Cambridge FCE, CAE & CPE Preparation Programs:
Our successful testing programs that we have higher pass rate for students completing the program.
The Cambridge First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency Exams are British English proficiency exams that prepare students in all major areas of English fluency skills- speaking, writing, reading, listening and use of English.
The programs are offered 3 times each year on specific dates.
TOEFL(Test of English as a Foreign Language)
The TOEFL test is used by American universities for acceptance of non-native speakers into their programs.
The TOEFL course at GV Hawaii is designed to develop listening, grammar, reading and writing skills as well as offering test taking strategies.
TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication)
The TOEIC course is designed to help students improve their TOEIC scores. This course focuses on grammar, listening and business idiom development.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
Designed for students from beginner to high advanced level, the IELTS preparation course aims to help you to achieve a high score on the IELTS exam. The IELTS is an internationally-recognized exam which evaluates the English language proficiency of non-native English speakers. It is used for admission to universities and colleges in English-speaking countries, as well as by employers and government bodies.
English Plus Programs:
Combine your English studies with one of our exciting activities such as surfing, hula, yoga, fitness, and ukulele!

University Pathway Program:
Global Village Hawaii has partnered with Kapi'olani Community College(KCC) and Leeward Community College (LCC), the campuses of the University of Hawaii's system, to form a wonderful university bridge program that provides an excellent opportunity for those students who wish to further their academic studies.
Semester Gap/ Academic Programs: A half year or a year long intensive English language course of study, with scheduled breaks throughout the programs.
Students will need to get an F-1 Student Visa for the duration of their study and enroll in the 25 lessons/week program.
Teen Activity Program:
This is our summer / winter program for teens from 12 to 17 years old and runs in July & August / January.
This program combines dynamic English lessons held on school campus with integrated daily fun activities. Students learn about our island home’s unique culture, improve their English and make new friends during their stay in Hawaii. Upon arrival, our teens are welcomed into the home of one of our host families and made to feel part of their family during their stay.
Cambridge Young Learners of English Program:
This is also our Summer /Winter program for young students from 7 to 12 years old, who wish to develop effective English communication skills and receive an official Cambridge certificate. The YLE Program has 3 levels of exams: Starters, Movers, and Flyers. Students will take a Cambridge pre-test prior to arrival to determine their level.
In addition to the Cambridge classes, students can also sign up for activities to interact with their classmates in a fun and casual environment held afterschool.
