Email: Contact us belowAccredited by the ISC (Independent Schools Council) and a member of the Independent Schools Association, RIC provides GCSE courses in the Lower School, one or two year A level courses in sixth form, ESL (English as a Foreign Language) courses, Creative and Visual Art courses or a combination of these.
Sixth Form Studies:
RIC has one of the largest private school sixth forms in Kent and our expertise in advising students and guiding them through their applications is unmatched. 38 A level subjects are offered with no subject combination restrictions. We are also able to offer Cambridge STEP papers.

Each year, students join our sixth form after completing their GCSEs at a traditional independent school or a grammar school.
Others choose to retake their A levels to improve their grades. We welcome many students directly into our sixth form each year who have completed their GCSEs/IGCSEs at international schools, making for a vibrant, multi-cultural atmosphere. A number of mature students join each year to restart A levels or change direction.
There is a lively boarding community and many of our English students have expatriate parents. Very small classes lead to a far more active involvement by students in their education and almost inevitably to excellent results.
You will get lots of help from highly-qualified and experienced teachers, with plenty of practice and techniques on how to answer exam questions.
A Level Courses:
A level study at Rochester Independent College is designed to be very flexible. In addition to our one-year and two-year A level courses, RIC offers one-term and five-term A levels, allowing international students to make a January start.
- One Year A Level Courses:
Groups in all subjects on one year courses tend to be dynamic and exciting with lots of interaction between students and teachers.
Those aiming for places on highly competitive courses such as Law, Medicine, English, and Veterinary Science will find themselves in groups of similarly dedicated students keen to make rapid progress.
- Two Year A Level Courses:
Two year A level courses give tremendous scope for gaining the widest possible AS and A level base.
Students study at the pace most suited to their ability and aims. Frequent meetings with their Personal Tutor ensure that students are keeping constant track of their own progress.
- A Level Retakes:
We have been offering intensive A level resit courses since 1984. These are designed for students that have missed their A level offer grades and are not happy with the courses available in clearing.
Many students arrive at RIC each year with three low A level grades and leave with three top ones and a first choice university place after either a one year or an intensive January to June A level retake course.
Equally important is the self-confidence gained from these successful educational turn-arounds.
