Português Et Cetera, Portuguese Language School in Lisbon & Online:
Located in the heart of Lisbon, Português et Cetera provides beginner to advanced level Portuguese classes which include a School Year Portuguese Course, Intensive Portuguese courses, Portuguese Linguistics, Online Portuguese via Skype, Summer Courses, and more. Our classes feature small groups (maximum 6 students) or private lessons (one-to-one with your teacher). We also prepare students to sit Portuguese language proficiency (CAPLE) exams. Our school offers a practical approach and very friendly atmosphere - a great combination to progress fast and well! Homestay accommodation with a local Portuguese family is also available.

After several years of experience teaching Portuguese to foreign students, Fernanda Ferreira decided to found her own language school in 2005. Public demand for such a school had been growing and, in Fernanda's experience, other establishments and University departments were not always able to give students the customized tuition they deserve. She decided to set up her own school where she welcomes many students eager for the Portuguese language experience.

Flexibility and creativity could be our slogan. A rigorous knowledge of Portuguese Linguistics and Grammar rules give a scientific approach to our methodology. We try to create lessons that feature natural communication & a familiar atmosphere. This allows students to learn in an enjoyable way. 

We don't use standard texts; rather we focus on the individual needs and interests of our students.

Our teaching of Portuguese links the reality of daily life in Portugal to its linguistics. Our tutors offer assistance wherever needed, facilitating the students' integration into the socio-cultural environment of their new country.

Linguistic and cultural difficulties in daily situations, such as dealing with public services, banks, solicitors, postal services, down to the more simple things such as ordering your meal in a restaurant and going shopping, are all subjects discussed freely during classes. Our teachers are always happy to help.

Suitable for beginner to advanced levels. Courses are organized in Modules of 2 or 4 weeks. Special discounts are offered for students enrolled in 3 or more Modules.

Conveniently located in the historical city center on the line of the famous 28 electric tram, we are a five minute walk from Alfama (the oldest quarter of the city), and Saint George Castle.

As we are in the center of the city, we are just a short walk to Plaza Commercio on the Tejo River, with many cafes and historical buildings, the pedestrian street, Rua Augusta, with its many shopping opportunities. It's also a short walk to the charming Bairro Alto neighborhood, museums, theaters and many of the city's beautiful sights.

Accommodation:
Options for students include a double and single room total immersion homestay program with a local Portuguese family close to the school.
