English Courses for Children & Adults in Australia

Australian International College of Language, Gold Coast, Queensland:
The Australian International College of Language (AICOL) is a government-accredited English language school in Southport, a suburb of the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. We have been offering year-round registered English courses, and summer & winter ESL camps for children and teenagers since 1993. Please note that we will be increasing the tuition fees for all courses by AUD$10 a week to apply from 1 July to 31 December 2024.

English Courses in Gold Coast, Queensland for Children, Families, Adults:

- General English for Beginner / Elementary to Upper Intermediate Levels (accredited course)

- English for Young Learners (students aged 6 to 12 years) - This popular and accredited course allows young students to arrive on a student visa with or without a parent. If required the student can be placed with one of our reliable and caring homestay families. 

- Intensive English for High School Preparation for ages 12-16 years (accredited course).
Duration: Up to 48 weeks.
Our English for High School Preparation course is designed for students who are entering Years 7 to 11 in Queensland secondary schools.  AICOL also has excellent relationships with private high schools and delivers HSP to many students wishing to attend several reputable private schools on the Gold Coast.

The structured High School Preparation ESL content in the course includes: 
- Australian culture and life skills
- Physical Education
- Technology
- Human Society
- Creative Arts


- English for Academic Purposes for university and other tertiary study (accredited course) - our Director of Studies is an IELTS test assessor, and our students regularly obtain excellent results in their tests

- IELTS test preparation for English proficiency.


- Summer English Camp 2024 for children, teens, parents, grandparents & guardians (Australian Winter Program on the Gold Coast)
- Up to 10 weeks of study in Queensland from 21 June through July to August 30 2020.
- Full time English language classes with activities.

- Winter Camp / Study Tour for Individuals & Groups (Australian Summer Program on the Gold Coast) 
January, February

Full time English language classes for children or adults followed by optional activities for individual students and for group study tours.

The winter program for individuals is subject to a minimum of 2 students who would like to participate. Examples of planned activity options include:

- Visit Australia Fair
- Visit famous Surfers Paradise
- Surfing lesson
- Kayaking
- Dreamworld
- Sea World
- Movie World
- Wax Museum
- Ten Pin Bowling
- Mini Golf
- Ripley’s Believe-it-or-Not
- Shopping at Harbour Town
- Free time to plan your own activity - surfing, tennis, shopping etc,

- Homestay programs with local host families:
AICOL also offers its own Homestay Placement Service, whereby all host families are inspected and required to meet strict standards, with the emphasis being on being caring, welcoming, and safe families.

We often have children as young as 6 years old coming by themselves from countries such as Japan and Russia.

We arrange a special airport greeting service and ensure that the children are taken directly to their host family from the airport.

The host families bring the students personally to AICOL each day and personally pick them up after school.

- English and Professional Sport - This accredited course is designed for those students wishing to concentrate on improving their sporting (for example, in golf, tennis, or swimming, under professional coaches) whilst at the same time obtaining English language skills.

- Professional Development for non-native English teachers, including Certificate lV in TESOL

Placement Service:
In addition, AICOL has a placement service for young students wishing to go on to study at Australian Primary Schools or Secondary Schools.

The Gold Coast has over 50 such schools, both public and private, from which a suitable school can be chosen for our students.
