BWS Germanlingua, Munich:
It was in 1984 when we started teaching German as a foreign language. Since then thousands of students from all over the world joined our classes and many of them returned a second and sometimes a third time. Both of our schools are in the very centre of the two most attractive German cities: Munich and Berlin. Thanks to our highly qualified teachers, the welcoming atmosphere and the modern teaching facilities we have earned a very good international reputation. In our classrooms, students from all over the world meet to learn German. Our teachers as well as the other members of our school office team are always available for advice. A student library and free internet access (even wireless) is at our students‘ disposal.
Our main courses are the standard and intensive courses. These are group courses with either 20 or 25 lessons per week. The maximum number of students in these courses is 10 and the average number of students is five to six. In addition to these courses, we also offer evening courses, individual tutoring, senior courses, Business German, Exam preparation, Pronunciation and a lot more.
The basis of our tuition is the modern usage of the German language. We focus on the understanding of both, spoken and written language, as well as the ability to express oneself orally and in writing. The courses start every Monday. For total beginners only, we have special starting dates of every four weeks.
The basis of our courses is the modern usage of the German language. We focus on developing the understanding of both, the spoken and the written language as well as the ability to express oneself. The teaching follows a clear syllabus and is geared towards training grammar and sentence structures and expanding vocabulary. The variety of teaching methods guarantees optimum learning success. In individual, partner or group work, you will improve your reading and listening comprehension as well as written and oral expression. We believe that the most important aspect of learning a new language is oral communication and having fun. You can put this into practice not only in role playing, language learning games and discussions, but also during our arranged leisure activities.
The capital of Bavaria is a charming city at the foot of the Alps, famous for the Oktoberfest and loved for its relaxed atmosphere. Sightseeing tours often start at “Marienplatz”, the very city center (3 minutes walk to our school) with its impressing neogothic city hall, and show the visitors countless baroque churches, neoclassic buildings from the early 19th century and the castle “Schloss Nymphenburg” with its lovely park. In summer you can make new friends in a beer garden, enjoy one of the many lakes in the surroundings of Munich or simply relax in the “Englischer Garten”. Snow covers the city in wintertime. People go sledging in “Olympia Park” or skiing in the nearby Alps. Don’t miss the popular “Christkindl Markets” where you can experience traditional Christmas ambience and buy nice gifts. Soccer matches at the famous new Allianz Arena, sports facilities at the Olympic site, exhibitions in museums and galleries, theatres, cinemas, fairs, concerts, discos – Munich really has it all and will quickly become your home away from home.
There are various accommdation options available to students including:
Living in a Host Family
This option offers the possibility to indulge into German daily life, culture and food and the opportunity to speak German also after school hours. There is no such thing as a classical “host family”, so your accommodation could be with a big family of father, mother, two kids and a dog as well as a single mother and her child, a single person or a couple. In any case, we always do our utmost to match your needs, requirements and interests with the host family’s profile.
Shared Students Apartment
In our students apartment you will share a flat with other students of our school. You have the option to book a “twin room” which you will share with another student of a different nationality or to book a “single room” just for yourself. In both cases, you will be sharing the kitchen and bathroom with all students living in the residence. Please note that the minimum age for this type of accommodation is 18.
Private Studio Apartment
If you like to be more independent, our self-catering apartments with a small kitchen and own bathroom for one person will be the right accommodation for you. You can bring a second person at extra charge. Please note that the minimum age for this type of accommodation is 18.
