University of East London - Royal Docks Business School:
University of East London - Royal Docks Business School offers a wide range of undergraduate and post-graduate degree programmes in business fields to both UK and international students, including a number of MBA programmes. Our business school is located in the historic Royal Docks in the Royal Albert Dock in the heart of London’s Docklands in East London, close to London City airport, and with excellent facilities and transport links. Our school exists to serve students, businesses and the community. We have strong international links, hosting visiting students and academics from many countries. We offer our own students opportunities to study abroad with a range of European partner institutions. We also offer opportunities for students to undertake our programmes at partner institutions abroad, or by Distance Learning.
UEL - Royal Docks Business School's business degree programmes involve frequent opportunities for students to meet and work with people from the business community and local and national government. We place great emphasis on employability and offer many opportunities for students to develop skills and work experience outside the formal classroom environment.
We have a strong faculty of around seventy highly qualified and experienced lecturers who are dedicated to teaching and supporting the student experience. They are also typically committed to high-quality research work which underpins our teaching, with groups focusing on entrepreneurship (the School hosts the Petchey Centre for Entrepreneurship), the management of human resources, finance, economics and banking.
We are also actively engaged in consultancy and knowledge exchange projects with business, increasingly focusing on the regeneration of the Thames Gateway area. The School works closely with the University's Knowledge Dock, a successful award-winning business incubator and innovation centre.
At UEL - Royal Docks Business School, our programmes are recognised by professional bodies including the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, (ACCA), the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, (CIPD), the Association of Project Managers (APM), the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Institute of Operational Risk (IOR).
Our aim is to move towards external accreditation for all our programmes, thus giving students additional advantages in the job market.

Our students are an extremely varied group; we are the Business School of choice for hundreds of students of all ages and backgrounds in the Thames corridor and across London and the Southeast, but every year we also welcome large numbers of students from across the world.
The rich diversity of cultures, life experience and backgrounds of East London is reflected in those of our London-based students who have chosen to study at their local business school. They are joined on campus by many international students from around the world, with students from 120 different countries studying in our school.
An essential part of the experience of studying at Royal Docks Business School is the excitement of working with people from very different backgrounds. This is vital preparation for the global work organisations of the future, and for understanding the diverse market environments which enterprise seeks to serve.
Every one of our programmes of study is designed to boost the skills employers are looking for. That’s because the academic staff at Royal Docks Business School work closely with experienced business and management professionals to plan its teaching programme. Whilst studying their chosen programme, students should also be considering simple strategies that will enable them to land that desired job. We strongly encourage students begin this process as early as possible and do not wait until after graduation so that they can remain one step ahead.
We encourage our students to undertake various extra curricular activities from attending talks to working as active volunteers. We also know that practical experience in business or industry gives students a real advantage when looking career employment. If students have not had an opportunity to gain that before they join us, then we aim to help them gain a placement or internship in a business organisation. In an increasingly competitive market, we provide resources and information students need to achieve their career aims.
