The Consulate-General of the Republic of Singapore safeguards the interests of Singaporeans visiting, living and working in Toronto and promotes bilateral, political, economic and cultural links between Singapore and Canada.
The Singaporean General Consulates provide the following services:
- Apply for/Renew Singapore Passport

For new applications, passport issued will be valid for 5 years. For renewal applications, passports issued will be valid for 5 years plus remaining validity. If the remaining validity of your passport exceeds 9 months, the validity upon renewal will be pegged at 5 years 9 months. If your passport has already expired, the new validity will be 5 years upon renewal.
If you are unable to produce the document required, please provide an explanation in your covering letter.
Processing time is approximately three to four weeks from the date of receipt of the complete application. As the issuance of the passport is done in Singapore, please allow enough time for processing and possible delays in postal delivery.
Applicants must present their old passport to the nearest Singapore Mission for cancellation upon receiving the new passport.
If ones Singapore Passport was lost or stolen while in the United States or Canada, the person should report it to the local Police Department/Precinct immediately and obtain a police report.
If the applicant need to return to Singapore urgently and is not able to wait for a replacement passport, the Consular officer will be able to issue you a Document of Identity (DOI) once identity has been verified. The DOI, in lieu of passport, will facilitate your return to Singapore only. To process DOI, the applicant must provide one passport-sized colour photograph and CAD12.00 money order or cashier's cheque to the Embassy or nearest Consulate.
Singaporean citizens who have lost their IC are required to report the loss and apply for a replacement in person within 14 days. A police report is required only if you are a victim of crime. Otherwise, you may execute a Statutory Declaration duly notarized by a Canadian Notary Public or when you go to ICA to report the loss. Upon returning to Singapore, please visit the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority to report the loss.
The Consulate-General also provides notarial services. One should call ahead to make an appointment with the Consular officer, and bring along the passport and/or other forms of photo identity for identification purposes. The service includes:

- Attestation of Signature on Documents
- Witnessing of Signature on Statutory Declarations for use in Singapore
- Witnessing of Signature on Affidavit for use in Singapore
